Examine the detail of this Black & Red Wampum Belt! The crafter made it with 9 rows of 4 mm long (just 2 mm wide!) Matte Glass Wampum Beads . He or she created a square box design with Red Matte Glass Wampum Beads on a Black background. Five bands of Red appear at each end of the Wampum Belt. The crafter encased the end threads in a strip of Braintanned Deerskin Leather. You could cut these strips into Fringe for a more traditional look, or use them as ties the way they are.The beaded section of this Wampum Belt measures 36.5" long x 2 7/8" wide. Each Braintanned Deerskin Leather strip measures 11" long Overall, this Wampum Belt measures approximately 59" long.
We got this Wampum Belt from a collection. It remains in excellent condition. You may notice some 'dried' spots on the Leather strips.
