Hand‑Stamped Hearts & Stars Slide

This unique handmade Scarf Slide – Hearts & Stars will make a fabulous addition to your accessories. The crafter formed the round slide from German silver and stamped a crescent‑moon outlines around the bottom.  Over each of these he added either a tiny heart cutout or a stamped star design.  He created a cutout star design in the center, then added a hand‑stamped brass star to the middle of the star motif. On the back, the crafter soldered a smooth metal loop so your scarf can glide through with ease. The front bears the maker’s mark, rendered as either an S or a snake‑form symbol. The slide measures approximately 3″ in diameter, offering a compact yet bold size for regalia, bandanas, or neckerchiefs.

One of a Kind.

German silver scarf slides trace their history to 18th‑century Europe, where metalworkers developed nickel silver for bright, durable ornamentation. By the 19th century, the alloy appeared in jewelry, buckles, and small fittings, which helped establish its role in modern accessories. Scarf slides gained popularity in the early 20th century, especially in Scouting, because metal versions offered strength and easy engraving. As German silver moved through trade networks, Native American artisans adopted the alloy for regalia and created scarf slides, conchos, and pins with stamped cultural motifs. Today, German silver scarf slides blend European metallurgy with Indigenous artistry to produce functional pieces rooted in long craft traditions.
