Women’s Wool Capote

Women's Wool Capote

This Women's Wool Capote has those extra details.  Along with the hood, the seamstress attached a 9" wide fringed wool capelet collar.  She added printed ribbon trim to the collar and sleeves. She put it together by hand with cross stitch construction. You will appreciate the patch pocket on the inside left of the capote.
The seamstress used a four point Early's Witney Wool Blanket to make this Capote. The Hudson Bay Company also wove point marks on its blankets. Native Americans brought that number of pelts in order to acquire a blanket. The point marks for this blanket appear on the front of the Capote.
The original binding stitching remains on bottom hem and some of the edges. This Capote comes with a matching 3" wide belt which slides through the attached belt loops.
The seamstress left the Northwest Traders and Early's Witney Point tags attached. You will see one tear hole at the upper part of the left sleeve.  The capelet collar covers it.
This Capote is approximately a Women's size Large - X Large. The Capote measures 44" long from the back neck to the bottom. The sleeves measure 24" long.
