A crafter created this Beaded Whimsy in 1907. It is a classic example of he Beaded Whimsy tourist souvenirs. Native American crafters in the border regions between Canada and the United States at the turn of the 20th century created many of these whimsies for the tourist trade.This whimsy features a botanical design made with Clear Pony Beads. The artist chose Amber, Green, Clear and Light Blue beads. It comes with three beaded tassels. Multicolored Basket beads decorate the tassels and make an appearance on the front too. White Pony Beads create the "1907". Sequins add some sparkle.
Polished cotton in what was Purple or Dark Blue makes up the back. You will see obvious wear on the front. A previous owner used this as a pincushion and the holes are visible. There is minimal bead loss, though one tassel is missing. The beaded hanging chain is intact.
This heart-shaped Beaded Whimsy will make an unusual addition to your antique or whimsy collection!
It measures approx 5" x 4.5".
