Totem Pole Port Renfrew
Totem Pole Port Renfrew
Antique Northwest Pacific Coast wooden Totem Pole has the date 1956 on the bottom. The artist carved this from a single piece of wood. The wood may be western Cedar. The wings and the base are separate. He or she did a nice job painting it. The Eagle on the top has suffered some damage. One of its ear points has broken and the end of its beak has broken. You will also see that a previous owner has glued the entire beak back on.The wings show chips and a place where the ink or paint has run. A previous owner tried to glue the wings to the back so they do not move.
The following appears on the back of the Totem Pole: Authentic Totem Carved & Painted by Port Renfrew Indians West Coast Vancouver.
Overall the Totem Pole is solid and in very good condition. You will see some small scratches and other signs of wear.
This Totem Pole has a flat back. You can display it inside your home on a shelf. It stands just 9" tall including the base. The round base measures 2" diameter.
