This Black Top Hat has a napped, felted feel to it. It comes with a 1″ grosgrain ribbon with a 5/8" black metal buckle around the crown. The brim has turned up sides and measures 2.25" wide at the front and back. The lining on the sides of the inside is very brittle and feels almost like paper. The lining at the top inside is a brownish red color and may be fabric. The crown shows some dents and wear and you will see worn spots along the brim.The inside lining shows a stamp that has a crest and says Chapeau Brevete (patent hat) Laville Petit & Crespin PARIS.
A previous owner had this Top Hat. It will make a vintage-looking accessory for your Native American Dance Regalia or an interesting addition to your collection.
The hat measures 6 ” tall. The top measures 7″ across and 7.5″ from front to back. The opening for head measures 7.5″ in diameter on the longer side and 6.25″ on the narrower side.
