Quirt SawtoothThis Quirt features a sawtooth edge. The crafter used unfinished wood, Brass Tacks and Cowhide Leather Lacing to create it. It measures 15" long not including the Cowhide Leather lash. The crafter added several 1/8" Brass Tacks in geometric designs. Then he attached a line of 3/8" Brass Tacks along one side. On the handle end he inserted small Brass Brads.
The Cowhide Leather lash measures 26" long and is split at the end.
Quirts are short riding whips found among people who herd cattle or sheep. They usually come with a braided leather lash.
This item comes from a previous owner, but it remains in excellent condition.
