Small Quilled Birchbark Box with Tulip Design
SOLD This Small Quilled Birchbark and Sweetgrass Box features Porcupine Quill designs on the sides and lid. The crafter attached a band of Sweetgrass around the edges. The quillwork design includes a red tulip on the attached cover and red, green and black quills around the sides. Some of the quills are damaged or missing in places, but overall the box is in good shape.Birchbark containers are traditional containers made from the bark of birch trees. They are typically used by Indigenous people in North America for storing and transporting food, clothing, and other items. This Container stands 2″ tall. The bottom measures 3″ x 3.75″. This basket came from a collection. One of a Kind!
