Acoma Style Pottery Bowl
SOLD This sturdy Acoma Style Bowl can hold small items for you or take a place in your pottery collection. The potter made this Bowl with red clay and painted geometric designs on it with Black slip. He or she added Black lines on the top of the rim as well. This Bowl has very thick walls, so it is heavy and sturdy for its size. You will see signs of wear. Some of the slip has worn away and there is wear on the bottom. The potter did not sign it.Traditional Acoma pottery comes from the Pueblo in New Mexico. The pottery usually features very thin walls, a desirable characteristic. Most artists create their pottery using hand coiled techniques. They often use Black, White and Red slip colors.
This Bowl has a 4.5" diameter at the top and stands about 2.5" high. The rim measures 1/2" thick. One of a Kind!
