Plateau Beaded Bag Floral

This Plateau Beaded Bag features a beautiful Floral design! The craftsman applique stitched mixed size faceted and round seed beads on stiff fabric to create three roses on a turquoise 13/0 background with a Metal and Translucent Faceted Bead border. Colors include Yellow, Translucent Yellow, Red, Translucent Orange, Light Green, Brass, and more. The craftsman then sewed a patchwork felt panel featuring an eagle feather motif for the back side of the bag, and lined the inside with red plaid cloth. They used soft deerskin leather to bind the outside edges as well as add fringe the base.  To finish, the craftsman attached leather laces for handles.
This woman's plateau bag is fully functional! Made circa 1970, it is 12 1/4" wide by 13 1/4" long. The leather fringing hangs 5" off the base and the handles are 16" long. The beadwork is in excellent condition with very little bead loss. There are a few faint stains on the felt panel, but they do not detract from the overall quality of the the bag.
