Pin Cushion Antique Beaded
Pin Cushion Antique BeadedAdd this unique Beaded Pin Cushion to your Beadwork collection! The crafter stitched two beaded panels together to create the top. The top fabric is Dark Brown. The crafter used a tan fabric for the bottom, and then covered it with a mesh fabric. The beadwork on the top resembles classic Iroquois floral designs with Clear, White, Cheyenne Pink, Clear Red, Turquoise, Pony Trader Blue, Clear Teal, Pumpkin, and Clear Amber Seed Beads. It is a classic example of the Beaded Whimsy tourist souvenirs. Native American crafters in the border regions between Canada and the United States at the turn of the 20th century created many of these whimsies for the tourist trade. We got this Pin Cushion from a collection. You can see that Beads are missing and the paper pattern underneath shows. You will see tears in the mesh back fabric. The center seam on the top has separated. A few small holes also appear in the top fabric. The stuffing is not coming out. Two pins remain in the Pin Cushion. It measures about 6" x 3.5". The thickness is about 2". One of a kind! Shop for Whimsies!
