Moccasins Braintanned with Quillwork
These Plains style Braintanned Moccasins with Quillwork have rawhide soles. The soft off white Brain tanned Deerskin Leather was also used on the cuffs, vamps, and laces. The geometric beadwork around the bottom and cuff is made with red, white and light blue seed beads. You will also see twelve rows of red quill work across the top of the moccasins. There has been no major bead loss however there is some moth damage to some of the porcupine quills.These moccasins measure 10" long by 3.75" wide at the instep. They stand about 3.25" high at the cuff.
A previous owner wore these quilled and beaded moccasins. The ties remain intact. The moccasins show soiling and staining but remain in good overall condition. Wear with care or simply admire them!
