Katsina Owl

Kachina Owl Figurine

This Katsina Owl figure will make a striking addition to your collection.  The artist carved it from wood. The Owl is a warrior Katsina who persecutes the Clowns. His mask features side wings and two feather bundles on the top.  He holds yucca whips in each hand.  He wears a Deerskin Leather cape, a colorful breechclout and fringed boot style moccasins.  He stands on a square base which has D-18 Crow stamped on it and Crow 2500 written in pencil.
Katsinas (or Kachinas) are supernatural beings in the Pueblo Indian traditions. The Pueblo tribes create Katsina dolls to give to children. Children use them to learn about the various Katsinas and not to play with.  This Owl Katsina stands just about 12" high including the 0.75" thick base.  The base is 3" square.  This figure came from a collection so you will see slight signs of wear.  His left side wing is no longer securely attached.  One of a Kind!
