Clay- Rare Hano Clown
1900s Rare Hano Clown
SOLD Don't miss the opportunity to own a rare and highly desirable antique Clay- Rare Hano Clown (Koshare) figurine from the early 1900s. The Koshare is among the most recognizable and celebrated of the Hopi clown figures, making this antique an outstanding addition to any collection of Native American art, Southwestern pottery, or early folk art.
This hand-crafted clay figure features a white clay slip accented with striking black and red stripes. Its expressive form and distinctive pointed head protrusions create a captivating display. This antique has survived for well over a century and remains in good condition for its age. A small chip on one of the pointed head protrusions does not detract from the figurine’s visual appeal or collectability. Both hands show missing elements—likely once‑attached objects—adding another authentic sign of age and history. It measures approx. 5.75" tall by 2.75" wide.
