Buffalo HideLooking for something unusual to add to your home decor? Display this Buffalo Hide on your wall or floor!
This Buffalo Hide waits for that discerning customer who appreciates its value. This Buffalo Hide has all of its fur, though you will see some worn spots and what may have been an injury. The tail and parts of the legs remain attached.
A previous owner removed the cape from this buffalo, so they cut a large section from the top. You will see the straight line across that side of the hide. Various writing appears on the back side as well.
The Plains Indians depended on American Bison for sustenance. They used nearly every part of the animal. In addition to providing food, a bison contained material to make tools and decorative material. Some parts of the bison provided supplies to make glue, thread and lubricants. They made clothing and moccasins from the hide. Furthermore, they used the hide to make Buffalo Robes.
Our Buffalo Hide measures 82" long x 56" wide. The tail extends 21" to the end of the fur. This measurement does not include the extended appendages.
