Basket Sweetgrass Ash Handkerchief

This Basket Sweetgrass Ash Handkerchief is a great addition to any collection! The craftsman used 1/2" wide burnt orange colored ash splints interwoven with sweetgrass braids to create a criss-cross design. As an additional touch, they wove more sweetgrass and ash into a handled lid. The ash splints have split in some places, however the basket remains fully functional. Believed to be from the Northeast and made circa the 1960s.
The basket measures approximately 9 1/2" by 9 1/2" with a 5" by 5" square opening. It is 2" high.
