Basket Ash with Hong Kong Cord Handle

Basket Ash with Hong Kong Cord Handle
Add this Handled Ash Basket to your collection!  The basket maker used Ash Splints that started out as a Teal Green.  Though the color has faded from the front of the Basket, you can see it plainly on the inside and the back.
He or she added some Hong Kong Cord as decoration around the top and bottom.  Then the basket maker created two handles with the Hong Kong Cord.  Around the top of the Basket, the crafter added a band of Sweetgrass.
This Basket comes with a tag that says "Made by Indians in their homes on St Regis Indian Reservation".
Aside from the faded color, this Basket remains in excellent condition.  You will find minimal breaks in the Ash Splints.  The Basket will not stand on its own because the bottom has slanted, perhaps from being hung by one of the handles.
This Basket measures 7.5" tall not including the handles.  The sides measure approximately 7.5" x 3".  The Handles add another 5" to the height.  The opening of the Basket spreads out and measures  8"  x 5.5".
