Ash Basket Narrow Splints
This round Ash Basket consists of mostly narrow splints. The bottom features some wider splints. The basketmaker added some curled splints to the bottom of the basket. You will see an interesting diagonal pattern across the side where the basket maker ran the vertical splints over 2 of the horizontal splints.A previous owner had this Ash Basket but it remains in very good condition. You will see a couple of broken splints and some stray marks. There is no signature on the bottom. This basket does not have any handles.
The Ash Splint Basket measures 4" high (with lid). The diameter at the top is 11", the bottom diameter measures 9".
