Antique Blanket Strip
Antique Blanket Strip
Don't miss this Antique Blanket Strip! You will love this fabulous example of turn of the century beadwork! Especially because it remains in unbelievable condition, intact with no bead loss. We believe this Blanket Strip was created circa 1900.The crafter beaded this strip on Braintanned Deerskin Leather. He or she used 10/0 Seed Beads in White, Arapaho Green, Pony Trader Blue, Cobalt Blue and White Center Red. In addition to the geometric designs, the crafter beaded four Rosettes in a classic Four Winds design. Ribbons in four colors center each Rosette. We believe someone replaced the Ribbons, as they remain in very good condition.
You will find this Antique Blanket Strip design typical of the Northern Plains Indians. It will make a delightful display piece for your beadwork collection. You can also add it to your own regalia.
This Blanket Strip measures 64" long x 3.25" wide.
