Antique Beaded Panel Ojibwa Style
Antique Beaded Panel Ojibwa Style
Wow! You will love looking at the gorgeous old color Seed Beads and floral designs on this Antique Beaded Panel. This piece is a panel taken from an early 20th century Bandolier Bag. You will appreciate the well-executed beadwork on this panel. The crafter decorated it with classic Ojibwa style floral designs. He used cotton thread to attach the Beads to a cotton panel. The Seed Bead colors include fabulous Reproduction colors like Pumpkin, Greasy Yellow, Pony Trader Blue, Cheyenne Pink, Cobalt Blue and White Center Red. You will also see many transparent colors and several cut Beads, including some old faceted Metal Beads. Too many to list!
Three rows of Transparent Turquoise Beads represent where a pocket would be in older style Bandolier Bags. Native American crafters switched to creating a 'band' of beads instead of an actual pocket.
Someone removed the panel from its original bag. Now it is waiting for YOU to give it a new place on another bag! This panel remains in very good condition for its age. You will see some bead loss, particularly along the edges, but the panel remains intact.
This piece measures 16.25" x 13".
