Jacket Child Seminole
Child size Seminole Jacket
SOLD This colorful Jacket Child Seminole is ready for a new owner! The tailor made it with bright bands of colored fabric alternating with black fabric. He or she inserted pieces of fabric under the arms make the arms more like a bat-wing for easier fit. There are no fasteners or buttons on the front or the cuffs. The shirt does not come with a lining, so you will see all the stitching from the piecework on the inside. You will see a few spots where the stitching has loosened and a place on the back where the white fabric has yellowed. One of a Kind!Seminole people of what is now Florida have been creating colorful patchwork clothing since the early 20th century. Some of the patterns represent particular concepts or natural phenomena. The Seminoles continue to create distinctive patterned clothing today.
This Jacket Child Seminole measures 18.5 inches long from neck to waist and 14 inches across the chest (lying flat). The sleeves measure 17 inches long. The neck opening measures 5.5 inches across. A previous owner wore this shirt, but it remains in good wearable condition. One of a Kind!
