A crafter beaded this Whimsy Picture Frame 1925 with a floral design and 1925 using pony beads. This antique whimsy has a unique shape for a picture frame. The artist chose Pony Beads for the floral design and the border around the frame. Light Brown fabric covers the front and Gold fabric covers the back and the inside frame opening.
This frame is a classic example of a Beaded Whimsy tourist souvenir. Native American crafters in the border regions between Canada and the United States at the turn of the 20th century created many of these whimsies for the tourist trade. This Whimsy came from a previous owner, but it remains in nice condition for its age. You will see some bead loss on the bottom and the beaded hanging loop is broken. This Beaded Whimsy will make an unusual addition to your antique or whimsy collection!
The Whimsy Picture Frame 1925 measures approx. 7″ tall x 5″ wide not including the beaded loops on the bottom. The picture opening measures 3″ x 2.25″. One of a Kind!
