Quahog shells from the Atlantic waters from Cape Cod south to New York are the source of real Wampum. Traditionally, Native American crafters used Wampum to make beads and pendants. Wampum Belts consisted of Purple Wampum Beads and White Whelk Shell Beads that crafters wove or strung together.
