Wool Navy Pipe Bag

Add this Pipe Bag Wool Navy to your collection or use it to hold your favorite pipe. Master Craftsman Andy Bullock created this Pipe Bag with navy blue wool trade cloth and Deerskin Leather lacing.  On the bottom he added 8.5 inch long  Deerskin Leather Lacing Fringe hanging from  3 inch long red wool fringe.  Overall this Pipe Bag measures 25.5 inches long. The bag itself measures approximately 17 inches long x  6 inches wide.  You can keep the top closed with the Deerskin Leather Lacing tie at the top.

A wool pipe bag is a traditional carrying case used to protect and transport items like ceremonial pipes, or tobacco pipes. Native Americans from the Plains originally smoked a blend of Red Willow bark mixed with Sumac leaves and a small amount of tobacco in their pipes.  They made pouches to carry their smoking mixture from the skins of small animals. Catlin documented pouches made from beavers and ducks.  They used the attached animal head to hang their pouch from their sash or belt. They also carried their smoking pipes, flint, steel and wood fire starting items in bags like these.
