Rattles Horn Vintage Pair

This pair of Vintage Horn Rattles shows nice patina.  The crafters made them from real Horn with wood handles.  They are very sturdy though they show their age and signs of use.  The smaller one measures 10.5" long  with a 2.5" piece of Horn.  The other measures just over 11" long with a 3" piece of Horn.  We are selling them as a set.  They will make a nice addition to your collection. One of a Kind!
Traditionally, Native Americans use Horn Rattles to produce the rhythm for song and dance. The Horn Rattle can also sometimes accompany the Water Drum. You can strike a Horn Rattle against the palm of the hand, or shake it. Native Americans did not use cow horn to make Rattles until after European contact. Prior to the introduction of cows, Natives of the Northeast used Bark, Gourd and Turtle Shell to make Rattles.
