Whimsy Beaded Watch Pocket
This Whimsy Beaded Watch Pocket features a leaf pattern made with clear seed beads. The crafter made the pocket with gold colored velveteen. They covered the back with polished cotton. At the top and bottom of the pocket, the crafter added beaded tassels. Although a few tassels are missing, the piece remains in good condition with very little bead loss. It measures approx. 6″ x 4″ not including the Basket Bead loops. One of a Kind!
It is a classic example of a Beaded Whimsy tourist souvenir. Native American crafters in the border regions between Canada and the United States at the turn of the 20th century created many of these whimsies for the tourist trade.
