Description
Birchbark Basket Round
Add this Birchbark container to your collection, or use it for storage! This Birchbark basket stands 12″ with a 10″ diameter and looks like a very serviceable waste paper basket (not for anything wet or sticky!). The crafter used natural white Birchbark to make this container. He or she wrapped Sweetgrass around the top and bottom and used spruce root to stitch the pieces together. On the bottom you will see written “Olivr M Libby from Marjorie July 26 1901”.
This Birchbark Basket came from a collection so we cannot provide a date for when it was created. It has been stored well as it is in very good condition. There are a couple places on the bottom where the spruce root has broken so the base is slightly separated. You will not want to put anything heavy in this container.
One of a Kind!
