Open this Footed Sweetgrass and Ash Basket to see the bright Blue Ash Splints! The basketmaker made this Basket with braided Sweetgrass. He or she added bright Blue Ash Splint curls to the lid and more Splints to the rim and bottom of the Basket. A piece of braided Sweetgrass serves as the handle on the lid.On the bottom, three Sweetgrass & Ash Splint 'feet' hold the Basket up. You will see a stamp that says Made in Canada on the outside edge of the Basket.
The Blue has faded from the outside of the lid of the Basket and one end of the handle has come out of its loop. Otherwise, this Footed Basket is in very good condition! It stands 5.5" tall with the lid on. It measures 6.5" in diameter.
