Round Northwestern California Basket with Lid
This Northwest California Basket with Lid will be a splendid addition to your Basket collection! The basket maker used Cedar Bark to make the frame of the basket and natural and dyed Beargrass to create the geometric design. The lid has some damage around the button which may not be original to this piece. There is also a crack in the side of the basket, however the basket is still sturdy.
The tribes of Northwestern California have been producing baskets for thousands of years and the art of basket weaving has been passed down from generation to generation. Today, many indigenous artists continue to create these beautiful and functional baskets, which are highly prized by collectors and art enthusiasts around the world.
