Whole Dry Scraped Buffalo Rawhide
This Rawhide Buffalo Whole Hide provides lots of material to work with. This hide came from a buffalo that died of natural causes during the summer. Thus, the hide is not very thick. The processor slipped the hair and dry scraped it. This left the dark epidermis which you can see on one side.
You may find this hide a little thin for a drum head, but it will be ideal to make Shields, rawhide containers like Parfleches or rawhide Rattles. This Rawhide Buffalo Whole Hide measures 6 feet 4 inches x 6 feet 9 inches (6′ 4″ x 6′ 9″). There are a couple of holes in it and remnants of hair on the edges. The tail is not very long. One of a Kind!
