Own the striking Yellow Faced Corn Maiden Carving that appears on the front cover of Catalog 20!This exquisitely carved representation of a Yellow Faced Longhair Maiden Kachina offers four cobs of maize on a platter. The artist carved her hair bound in the back. Both the maiden and her stand consist of one piece of wood carved together.
He or she painted her blanket, skirt, hands and face. The detail is striking. You will see both the knuckles and nails on her hands. The feathers on her head and face show every striation. The artist even carved the ties on the sides of her leggings.
The artist signed the carving on the bottom.
This beautiful decorative carving measures 8" high x 2.5" wide at the base.
