Beaded Belt - Crow Style

This Beaded Belt - Crow Style is quite a find! The craftsman began creating this belt by folding tan fabric around stiff paper. They punched two holes at each end of the belt, through which they strung leather tie closures. Next, the craftsman applique stitched a lovely floral motif onto the fabric with 11/0 seed beads, 11/0 Charlotte Cuts, and Antique 11/0 beads. Colors include Pale Blue, Translucent Green, Translucent Teal, Periwinkle, Orange, Rose Pink, and more on a Light Blue background. To finish, they backed the belt with red, black, and tan striped fabric. The stitching holding on the fabric backing has come loose in some spots, but the separation can be repaired easily. This beaded belt has suffered minimal bead loss, but is does not detract from overall design.
Also included is a heart shaped beaded slide that covers the Deerskin Leather Lacing ties. The craftsman applique stitched a blue bird and red flower with 11/0 Charlotte Cuts on a 11/0 Light Blue background. They added a wine border and a Light Blue peyote stitched drop with wine loops. The craftsman backed the buckle with teal calico fabric. This slide attaches to the Belt with a Deerskin Leather Loop on the back.
This Beaded Belt - Crow Style measures 37" long and 4 3/8" wide. The buckle is 6 1/4" across at its widest point and 5 3/4" long, the beaded drop adds another 5 1/2".
