Antique Beaded Pouch

Add this simple Antique Northern Plains Beaded Pouch to your collection!  We think it comes from around 1900.  We obtained this Pouch from a descendant of the original collector, who purchased it around the turn of the 20th century.
The crafter made this Pouch from Braintanned Deerskin Leather.  He beaded some simple floral-like designs on both sides. He used White Center Red, Sioux Green, Periwinkle and Turquoise Seed Beads. At the top of the pouch, the crafter snipped the edge into a serrated pattern. He also added a short serrated fringe to the edges of the bag.  A Braintanned Deerskin Leather Lacing closes the Pouch. Inside you will find a seed that was blessed by a tribal member in Oregon in the 1990s.
This Pouch remains in very good condition for its age.  You will see some bead loss on one side and a couple of places where the beads have loosened.  It has become fragile, so we recommend it be displayed and not used.
The Pouch measures 5.25 inches x 3.25 inches.
