Own a classic tourist collectible from the early 1900s! This round log plaque features two little half barrels that can hold matchsticks. Lake Sunapee NH appears written at the top. A fabric ribbon holds a plain metal hanging loop.The half barrels still show the bark from the wood used to make them, too. The bottoms of these barrels bear the remains of some kind of asphalt shingle type substance. They remain firmly attached to the plaque.
Considering its age, this plaque has held up nicely. You will not see any deterioration of the wood. The bark remains tightly attached to the outside, with very few bits broken off. The decal has been obliterated by the varnish, but you can still make out the shape of an Indian Chief. The back shows some minor water staining and some holes.
The plaque measures approx. 6.75" in diameter. The barrels measure 2.5" tall x 2.25" wide.
