Antique Beaded Women's Gloves

Fabulous old color beads create floral designs on this pair of women's beaded gauntlet style gloves. We believe these represent a Santee Sioux style. They likely come from sometime between the 1890 - 1910.
The artisan used Braintanned Deerskin Leather to make them. He or she used both hand sewing and a machine to sew them together. The 13/0 Cut Seed Beads come in Gold, Silver, Clear, Cobalt Blue, two shades of Green, Translucent Mauve and Turquoise.  13/0 White Center Red Beads fill in some of the center spaces.  The artist attached 3" of Braintanned Deerskin Leather Fringe to the outside of the cuffs.
Western Show actresses often wore these type of gloves in shows or parades. These gloves show very little wear, so the previous owner probably stored them.   They remain in very good condition with no 'hard spots' in the leather. You will see minor insect damage including small holes.
These gloves measure 13.5" long. The cuff measures 6.5" at the widest point. The wrist measures 3.5" wide.
