5″ Hair Base Red Porcupine Roach

This Roach 5 inch Hair Base features a hand tied hair base.   The crafter tied Red deer hair for the outer row.  The front hair stands approximately 7 inches high.  This roach comes with a wood form for storage.  One of a Kind!

Porcupine hair roaches are one type of traditional headwear for Native American Dance Regalia.  You can attach a roach to your head with a small hair braid (or scalplock) pulled though the center hole and fasten with a roach pin, and or use a roach spreader.  Hair base roaches are an early form of roaches. To make them, the crafter must tie hundreds of bundles of hair then sew them together to form the base.

This Roach 5 inch Hair Base measures approximately 5 inches long and 2.5 inches wide at the widest point.  We got this roach from a collection.  You will find it very good, usable condition.  One of a Kind!
