Porcupine Roach – Red 6″
This Porcupine Roach – Red 6″ is ready to wear! The Porcupine Roach is one type of traditional headwear for Native American Dance Regalia. The craftsman tied hundreds of bundles of porcupine hair to make the 6 1/2″ by 2 1/2″ teardrop shape for the hair base. They tied red deer tail for one row on the inside side of the roach. Two rows of natural colored porcupine hair for the inner row the front row of porky hair measures 7″ high . Included with this roach is a custom made wooden form with a wrap for safe storage.
You can attach to your head with a small hair braid (or scalplock) pulled though the center hole and fasten with a roach pin, and or use a roach spreader.
