Add this light Seminole jacket to your wardrobe! Bright bands of patchwork decorate this navy blue cotton jacket. The jacket comes with seven 5/8" diameter buttons on the front and one on each sleeve. It has a band collar and a 2" wide band at the bottom hem. The crafter pleated the fabric below the shoulder and along the band at the bottom hem. Pieces under the arms make the arms more like a bat-wing for easier fit. This jacket is not lined, so you will see all the stitching from the piecework on the inside.Seminole people of what is now Florida have been creating colorful patchwork clothing since the early 20th century. Some of the patterns represent particular concepts or natural phenomena. The Seminoles continue to create distinctive patterned clothing today.
This jacket measures 30" long from neck to waist and 35" across the body. The sleeves measure 26" long and 8" wide. The shoulder measures approximately 17" across. The size is a Men's Large/X Large.
A previous owner wore this jacket, but it remains in very good wearable condition.
