Brighten up your wardrobe with this Seminole jacket! Bright bands of patchwork and rickrack decorate this bright blue cotton jacket. The jacket comes with a plastic zipper on the front and a collar. Pieces under the arms make the arms more like a bat-wing for easier fit. The sleeve cuffs and bottom of the jacket have elastic, but it is not tight. This jacket is not lined, so you will see all the stitching from the piecework on the inside.Seminole people of what is now Florida have been creating colorful patchwork clothing since the early 20th century. Some of the patterns represent particular concepts or natural phenomena. The Seminoles continue to create distinctive patterned clothing today.
This jacket measures 26" long from neck to waist and 23" across the body. The sleeves measure 26" long with a 7" wide. The shoulder measures 19" across. The size is a Men's Large/X Large.
A previous owner wore this jacket, but it remains in very good wearable condition.
