Add sparkle and shine to your dance regalia with this Bandoliers Set. The crafter created two distinct pieces: one with brass bullet casings, a brass eagle button, pony beads and coordinating brass beads; the other with plastic hairpipe in 4″, 3″, and 1″ lengths, paired with green glass fire-polish Aurora Borealis beads. The design also features trade beads and nickel beads for added texture and color. The crafter fashioned three drops from strap leather, each finished with a glass octagon bead for a decorative accent.

In many Native American traditions, especially among Southern Plains and Woodland people, dancers wear bandoliers as part of ceremonial and powwow regalia, draping them across the chest and over the shoulder. Unlike military cartridge belts, these regalia bandoliers showcase materials like bone or plastic hairpipe, glass beads, trade beads, cowrie shells, and leather spacers. Crafted to sway with each step, they amplify both the dancer’s rhythm and the regalia’s visual impact.

Some sets include multiple strands or drops, and crafters often personalize them with symbolic colors or bead patterns. For example, a Southern Plains Bandolier Set might feature nickel beads, mescal beans, and cowrie shell drops, while a Traditional dance Bandolier kit could include imitation or genuine bone hairpipe, crow beads, and abalone discs.
