Hudson Bay Trade Beads – Yellow Heart Round – Est 46 beads

Hudson Bay Trade Beads

Many European traders brought several varieties of glass beads to the Americas. They traded these beads to the Native Americans in exchange for furs.  The Hudson Bay Trading Company was one group that imported trade beads to exchange with the Native Americans. The Hudson Bay Trading Company sponsored explorers who ventured into the North American continent for trade expeditions during the 19th century.
These large red beads with yellow centers are examples of Hudson Bay Trade Beads.  Collectors desire them for their size, shape and coloration.
This strand of Trade Beads measures 22"  long.  The fiber cord has broken so some of the beads are loose.
