These Wampum Square are nothing but cut wampum chips so all you see is the natural wampum! The artist polishes them just enough to make them smooth.Each pendant measures approx. 1 1/8" long x 7/8" wide. They come on silver hooks.
Each pair is handmade so allow for natural differences.
Quahog shells from the Atlantic waters from Cape Cod south to New York are the source of real Wampum. Traditionally, Native American used Wampum to make beads and pendants. Wampum Belts consisted of Purple Wampum Beads and White Whelk Shell Beads woven or strung together.
