Chevron Bead 7/8 inch x 0.5 inch
Chevron Bead 7/8 inch x 0.5 inchChris picked up several large Chevron Beads that we are offering to the discerning collector or crafts person. This Chevron Bead is the smallest of the batch. It measures just 7/8" long x 0.5" in diameter. It shows more white striping than the other beads. This bead comes with a wide hole through the middle.
Glass Chevron Beads are elegant layered beads. They usually come in Red, White and Blue, but can also come in other colors. Jewelers often use them to make necklaces. Beadmakers from Czechoslovakia first made Chevrons in the 16th century. Traders brought these layered beads to North America and Africa. The complexity of their manufacture makes them highly desirable. Craftsmen could not leave their factories in order to prevent them from sharing the technology.
This bead shows very small discolored spots in the white section, but it remains in very good condition.
