Chevron Bead 1.25 inch x 0.75 inch 3

Chris picked up several large Chevron Beads that we are offering to the discerning collector or crafts person. This large Chevron Bead  measures 1.25" long x 0.75" in diameter. This bead comes with a somewhat narrow hole through the middle.
Glass Chevron Beads are elegant layered beads. They usually come in Red, White and Blue, but can also come in other colors. Jewelers often use them to make necklaces. Beadmakers from Czechoslovakia first made Chevrons in the 16th century. Traders brought these layered beads to North America and Africa. The complexity of their manufacture makes them highly desirable. Craftsmen could not leave their factories in order to prevent them from sharing the technology.
This bead shows some discolored spots in the white section. One end has a 'dented' or flattened spot. The other end has a chipped spot.
